My "Found Cloth" Lunchbag

I don't think anyone else will be eating my lunch... This lunchbag is made of pieces of fabric entirely from my "found cloth" bin, aka scraps... that I sewed into relatively square pieces and cut into quarter square triangles and re-sewed together.  It took 12 squares for the outside and 12 more squares for the inside lining.  Even the strap is recycled pieced triangles from another project.  It took longer to make the cloth than to make the bag.  It's a terrifically easy bag to make.  The little diagram is what my friend C gave me to show how the bag goes together.  You make two of them and use the second one for the lining.  Sew on a strap and a piece of velcro to keep it closed and you are good to go.  It will be a great conversation starter in the break room.

Spring is Here!

The daffs are up, the buds are showing on the hyacinths, and the hellebore blossoms are gorgeous.  The birds are singing every morning and the squirrels are chasing each other.  I'm picking pussy willows tomorrow and I went to a gardening lecture tonight.  The smell of the air and soil has changed.  I'm building a new plan for the perennial garden and am almost ready to let H yank the yews out...

My Divided Basket

We had a class last month at basket guild and I built this divided basket.  It was an interesting technique to learn as I had not previously made this type of basket.  My goal is to make at least 12 baskets this year...  with at least a few new techniques.  It's the third month and I'm on my third basket, we'll see how it goes.

My Bag

I liked Chrissy's so well, that I made one for me too.  A bit less time, but only one zipper this time.  I just put pockets on the inside...
